5 Ways To Celebrate Your Dog’s Birthday

We all like to be pampered and shown love on our birthdays, so why not give the same kind of attention to your dog? Your four-legged companion does much to improve your life, so do what you can to give them a very special day. We have some ideas here that we hope you find useful, so consider our suggestions as you prepare for your dog’s next birthday.

#1: Buy your dog something to wear

Dog’s aren’t natural followers of fashion, of course, so they won’t be choosy when it comes to what you buy them. However, if you do purchase an outfit for your pooch, perhaps something along the lines of this french bulldog apparel, be sure that it fits them well to ensure they stay comfortable. Of course, it’s not just about making your dog look good. As with your human clothes, practicality is important too. A warm and waterproof jacket would be a great present if it regularly rains in your area, and if your dog’s birthday is during the chilly season, a pair of doggie booties would do much to protect their feet from the cold.

#2: Give your dog something good to eat

We all deserve an edible treat on our birthdays, so consider the same for your dog. A few healthy homemade treats might go down well, and a more expensive variety of your dog’s usual dinner might also be welcomed. Your dog will probably scoff the lot down before actually tasting anything, of course, but at least you’ll know that you went to a special effort. As your dog’s party guest, It’s only right that you should have something to eat too. This birthday cake can be eaten by both dogs and humans so follow the recipe given and whip up a storm in the kitchen before the big day arrives.

#3: Take your dog out for a good walk

You know that exercise is important for your dog, so walking him will be something you do regularly. But on his special day, take your dog to his favorite place, and walk him for as long as you and he are able. Let him off the leash if it is safe to do so too, and give your dog the opportunity to explore his favorite surroundings.

#4: Play party games

No birthday is complete without a few party games so let off some steam and have some fun with your pooch. Musical statues will probably be out of the question, especially if your dog is excitable. And a game of charades will probably fall flat too! But you could still play fetch and catching games, and musical chairs is also a possibility according to this list of doggie party games. Perhaps invite a few of your dog’s friends around as well, being sure to invite their human companions along to help keep some semblance of order.

#5: Give your dog a present

And finally, don’t forget to buy your dog a present. We have already mentioned clothing, but if you’re looking for something for your dog to play with, check out this selection at Pampered Paw Gifts. Your dog will probably spend more time playing with the wrapping of course, but as the old saying goes, it’s the thought that counts!
